We started our 2-week Europe trip booked using ANA miles as a multi-city open-jaw roundtrip (see image below).
The total taxes/fees for the award booking were very reasonable (see image below).
Park Hyatt Chicago
We arrived the night before to spend a night at the beautiful Park Hyatt Chicago. This is our second time here and we never seem to get a Globalist suite upgrade at this hotel. However, the standard room was very spacious and the king bed was comfortable except for the flat pillows.
We woke up late and went for breakfast, but the Nomi restaurant menu had been changed compared to the last time and my wife missed eating her Belgian Waffle that she enjoyed last time we were here (review).
Extremely slow Wi-Fi Connection
Free Wi-Fi at the Park Hyatt Chicago was the worst I have ever seen at any hotel over the last decade.
My Google Fi Hotspot
I ended up using my Google FI hotspot during the day which provided a much better Wi-Fi connection speed compared to the hotel (see image below).
Things that remain awesome at the Park Hyatt Chicago
- Wonderful front-desk staff and overall customer service.
- Excellent service at breakfast.
- 4pm guaranteed late checkout without any interruptions on a Saturday.
Conclusion
Park Hyatt Chicago has an excellent central location and we would not hesitate to stay here again, but the subpar Wi-Fi speeds and changed menu for breakfast may put off users staying for a few nights.
