Amex Platinum periodically sends out 15K MR points earning offers to buy luxury designer goods like Versace and Jimmy Choo. I noticed the Versace offer (see image below) while we were vacationing in Prague.

We paid the Versace shopping bill with the Amex Platinum and are hoping to get a 12% VAT refund when we submit it at our last European Union destination (Lisbon in our case).

MR points are incredibly valuable and it is useful to check on the available offers when you are shopping for luxury goods. It is very attractive to buy them when traveling overseas due to the significant VAT tax refunds (review).
