If you have Hertz President’s Circle status from being an Amex Platinum card member, you can request a top tier status match from other premium car rental companies like SIXT (review) or Europcar.
Europcar elite status tiers
Europcar has 4 levels of status and you will get a level 3 Adventurer status after showing proof of Hertz President’s Circle.
- Level 1 – Discoverer: from 0 to 999 points
- Level 2 – Traveller: from 1 000 to 2 999 points
- Level 3 – Adventurer: from 3 000 to 9 999 points
- Level 4 – Navigator: from 10 000 points and more
Europcar Elite Status Benefits
Europcar Adventurer status (Level 3) offers benefits like a 10% discount, faster priority service/pick-up, a free additional driver, and a complimentary vehicle upgrade (when available). Europcar’s top Navigator status (level 4) offers a 30% discount and a double vehicle class upgrade (see image below).
How do I request a Europcar status match?
Europcar does not have a dedicated webpage (similar to Hertz) for status matches. However, you can match your Hertz President’s Circle status to Europcar’s Adventurer by enrolling in Europcar’s Privilege program and contacting their customer service via email (privilege-card@europcar.com) with proof of your Hertz status.
How long does it take to get the confirmation email
I have emailed a screenshot PDF file of my Hertz President’s Club membership status and received the status confirmation email from Europcar after 3 days (see image below).
How useful is Europcar Status?
Similar to SIXT, I will use the Europcar status to compare prices and hold car rentals with free cancellation until pickup time.
Europcar may be the only car rental option inside certain airports (e.g., Puerto Natales, PNT) and can be of great convenience. I will make use of Europcar rental during my next trip to Chilean Patagonia to be able to pick up and drop off the car from the airport, instead of taking a taxi to other car rentals.
