How to request Avis President’s Club status match to Hertz President’s Circle
Once you have Hertz President’s Circle status (via Amex Platinum or Capital One Venture X), you can simply take a screenshot of your status and email (profile.update@avisbudget.com) Avis requesting a status match and you will get a response within a few days (see image below).
Is the Avis President’s Circle useful?
Several airports have a dedicated line for Avis Preferred, and having President’s Club status may not get you into the rental car any faster. Despite all the published benefits of “guaranteed vehicle upgrades”, I did not receive any rental counter recognition at the Madeira airport compared to the exact opposite experience with SIXT at Ponta Delgada airport (review).
Conclusion
You may never know which car rental company will give you the best deal and it is important to check prices on all of them. If you are a long-term holder of a premium credit card like Amex Platinum, it is easy to obtain Hertz President’s Circle status and then request for a match to a top tier status from other competitors like SIXT, Europcar and Avis.
