We fell in love with the Fuji Speedway Hotel when we visited in January 2025 for a 3-night stay (review). I ended up rebooking a 6-night stay for April 2026 one year in advance and applied one of my suite upgrade awards.

What is Special About Fuji Speedway Hotel?
Fuji Speedway Hotel is one of the most uniquely located Hyatt properties in the world, being located directly on the historic Fuji Speedway race circuit.
- Unbeatable Track & Mountain Views: Guests can choose between rooms overlooking the bustling Fuji Speedway Circuit—perfect for witnessing races from a private balcony or rooms offering serene views of Mount Fuji.
- Fuji Motorsports Museum: Located within the hotel, this museum showcases roughly 40 historic racing cars, offering an immersive journey through automotive history for enthusiasts and families.
- Motorsport-Themed Luxury: The hotel features sophisticated design elements, including a lobby installation of, miniature racetracks, and a multi-story chandelier that resembles a speedway layout.
- Exclusive Experiences: Guests can arrange, through the hotel, exciting experiences such as driving on the racetrack in cars like the Toyota Supra.

Tokyo International Airports to Fuji Speedway Hotel
Haneda is closer to the Fuji Speedway Hotel, but our drive from Narita airport to the Fuji Speedway Hotel took around 2hr 30 min. While the property can be reached via bus or train from Tokyo, we always enjoyed having a rental car to get around the area for hiking, dining and shopping.

Mount Fuji View Grand Prix Corner Suite
The overall design quality of the Mount Fuji View Grand Prix Corner Suite (91sqm) exceeds the Circuit View Grand Prix Suite (86sqm) despite having similar furniture. Mount Fuji remained cloud covered for the last 3 days of our stay here and sunny days would have looked gorgeous from the living room and bedroom windows. The suite is also very quiet without the racing car noises from the circuit.

Omika Wellness & Spa
- The Onsen areas are separated for men and women and photography is not permitted.
- Onsen area is closed daily between 1-2PM for cleaning.
- As is typical in Japan, the Onsen areas are textile free and you can only enter the main Onsen area with a small towel after using the locker at the entrance to store your clothes and room key.
- There are two Onsen baths with a view of Mount Fuji along with a dry sauna (men’s section) and a steam room (women’s section).
- There are several sit down bathing sections with shampoo, conditioner and soap.
- There is also a table fan inside the locker room to cool down after a hot session along with a water station.
- The water temperatures for the Onsen are kept very hot at around 42°C (107.6°F). The dry sauna temperature was the hottest I have ever experienced at any hotel (95°C (203°F).
- Only the men’s Onsen has a cooling bath section (next to dry sauna) where the temperature is set at 19°C.
- While hesitant in the beginning due to being textile free, we enjoyed the Onsen bathing and sauna bathing daily during our stay and felt rejuvenated.
- We enjoyed a congestion-free Onsen experience by arriving at 8AM daily after eating an early breakfast.

Fuji Speedway Hotel vs Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa
Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort & Spa is near Fuji Speedway Hotel, but the overall hotel design, spa and customer satisfaction ratings are not in the same caliber as the Fuji Speedway Hotel.
Overall Customer Service at Fuji Speedway Hotel
Fuji Speedway Hotel has impeccable customer service everywhere including dining, room cleaning and the spa area. Phone requests for room waters, towels and toiletries are fulfilled within a few minutes. While the rooms are being cleaned, the staff places a small car toy outside the room as an indication (see image below).

Fuji Motosuko Resort
Fuji Motosuko Resort is located within an hour of driving distance from the Fuji Speedway Hotel.

Conclusion
Fuji Speedway Hotel offers an unparalleled luxury and wellness center experience near Mount Fuji and should be explored by Hyatt loyalists with a suite upgrade award. The hotel is priced much lower (cash or points) compared to Tokyo hotels and it is a great place to get over jet lag after international travel.
