The Adršpach-Teplice Nature Reserve comprises ~50 meters tall ethereal rock formations in the Czech Republic. The Reserve is located within 3 hours of driving distance from Prague and is best explored by a rental car.

Award Booking Flights to Prague

The only non-stop flights from the US to Václav Havel Airport in Prague (PRG) are from JFK (Delta) and Newark (United). It is easy to find connecting flights to PRG airport from any other major European city. I used Flying Blue miles to fly from JFK to Prague via Paris. Flying Blue miles are easy to earn and there are frequent transfer bonuses from the Amex MR program. The Flying Blue program recently announced free one-way stopovers that could be used to further explore either Paris or Amsterdam before heading to another destination.

Drive from PRG airport to Adršpach-Teplice Nature Reserve

The drive from the Prague international airport or city center to the Adršpach-Teplice Nature Reserve will take 2.30 to 3 hours based on the traffic.

Adršpach-Teplice Nature Reserve Accommodation

I recommend staying 1-2 nights near the nature reserve (city of Trutnov) to properly explore the region.

Visiting the Adršpach-Teplice Nature Reserve

The entrance fee for the nature reserve is 80-120 Czech Koruna ($3-6 USD) based on the season and the parking fee is 150 CZK or $7 USD. Once you park the car and enter the place, you will see a beautiful Piskovna Lake, and the Teplice circuit will start after the lake. Most visitors take the trail in a clockwise direction ( 3 hours) and you will pass through a manmade Gothic gate that is wedged between large rocks. It will be a breathtaking walk that will take you through the massive rock hideaways, temple walls and Anna’s valley.

Broumov Cliffs

After visiting the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks, I also recommend driving to and exploring the Broumov Cliffs. Broumovské stěny or Broumov Cliffs/Walls are an extension of the Stołowe Mountains and are one of the most beautiful locations for hiking and climbing in the Czech Republic. They are rarely crowded even in the summer and offer great views from the hikes.

Summary

Adršpach-Teplice Rocks and Broumovské stěny are the most visited natural attractions in the Czech Republic and must be explored by all the travelers in the region of Prague. Several frequent flyer programs can be used to book award flights to Prague.
