Venture X Business card differs from the personal Venture X (review) by preserving the non-lounge Priority Pass experiences (e.g., dining and spa). I wanted to try the Be Relax Spa in terminal 1 JFK on my way to Canary Islands on Brussels Air.
Be Relax Spa Rules:
- Each treatment represents a single lounge visit within the Cardholders existing lounge visit allocation for which the Cardholder will, where applicable, be charged.
- If a Cardholder registers 1 Guest, they will be charged 1 Cardholder visit + 1 Guest visit on their account.
Be Relax Spa Massage Options:
- Be Back 15-minute Massage plus O2 (a US$38 value)
- Be Back 30-minute Massage (a US$38 value)
- Polish Change plus Hand Massage (a US$38 value)
- Be Feet on lounger 10-minute plus O2 (a US$44 value)
My experience at Be Relax Spa in JFK
The Be Relax Spa Attendant asked if I had an Amex or Capital One issued Priority Pass and the moment I told Capital One we were denied access. She showed us a large printed sheet that had a blanket statement saying “Amex and Capital One stopped participating in Priority Pass non-lounge experiences”.
I am sure the Venture X business card issued Priority Pass would work at Be Relax Spa. I did not want to argue with the Be Relax Spa attendant about this or call customer service. She did not hear my explanation about the Venture X business version or scan the Priority Pass code to see if it worked.
Possible workaround for this issue
If I am visiting Be Relax Spa again, I am simply going to tell them I have a Priority Pass issued by a bank different from Amex or Capital One. This way they can scan my Priority Pass code and let me enjoy the spa experience.
Conclusion
If you are ever at Be Relax Spa while holding a Capital One Business Venture X issued Priority Pass and run into the same issue as me, remember to just tell them you have a Priority Pass issued by Chase to avoid all the confusion.
