The problem with flight credits is that they cannot be extended after their original expiration date and your trip must begin before the expiration date listed on your credit.
My expiring JetBlue Travel Bank credit
Travel bank credit can be easily accessed by clicking on your name in the top right corner, then choosing “See Travel Bank Statement” which will open up in a new tab (see image below).
I recently cancelled a JetBlue flight and got a refund, which is set to expire on 5/20/24 (see image below).
How do you use expiring credit to travel on a future date?
- The easiest way is to first book a Blue or Blue Extra booking that can be changed anytime. You must pick a route you frequently travel for free date changes, since the destination cannot be changed or reversed.
- It is important to avoid Blue Basic, which can only be cancelled and cannot be changed. If your travel credit has expired, you may not get a travel bank refund when your Blue Basic booking gets cancelled.
- In my case, I was able to easily book the JetBlue Blue Extra flight from JFK-FLL departing before the expiration date of the travel bank credit (5/20/24). I then went to JetBlue Manage My Booking page and changed it all the way to February 2025 (my next travel date to NYC).
