Grand Hyatt DFW is located inside Dallas Fort Worth Airport at Terminal D and we stayed there one night before taking the JAL flight to Tokyo. Our last stay at a Hyatt airport terminal hotel was at Orlando International Airport (review). We landed at terminal A and took the Sky-link to terminal D and there were clear signs posted everywhere about the Grand Hyatt. There are two terminal D gate stops and the hotel name was included in the overhead announcement at the first stop at the D gates.

Grand Hyatt DFW Globalist Recognition

I was surprised to receive an email and a text recognizing my Globalist status from the hotel guest manager. They informed me that my stay has been upgraded to an Executive Suite. They also messaged me around 8pm during our stay, inquiring if we needed anything.

Grand Hyatt DFW check-in

Check-in process was very quick and once we headed to the room on the 6th floor (610). They offered us bottled water to take to the room (I did not find any bottled water in our suite).

Grand Hyatt DFW Executive Suite

Grand Hyatt Executive Suite is gorgeous in every aspect and we did not expect to see that in an airport hotel (see images below).

Grand Hyatt DFW Fitness Center & Outdoor Heated Pool

Grand Hyatt DFW has a fantastic fitness center on the 8th floor with all the equipment you need to have a great workout. The heated outdoor pool has several lounge chairs along with a cool runway view (see images below).

Grand Met Restaurant

Grand Met restaurant prices are expensive (see image below) and we ordered two dinner entrees (seared chicken breast & prime NY strip). I enjoyed the chicken dish (small portion for the money they charge), but my wife found it strange that the NY strip was precut by chef into bite sized portions.

I was glad to see a full breakfast menu, which was extensive and our oatmeal and scrambled eggs were perfectly done along with a tasty sourdough toast.

It was strange to see a 20% Globalist Service Charge included in the check (see image below).

TSA PreCheck at DFW terminal D

There was no option for CLEAR PLUS in DFW terminal D and there were long lines at TSA PreCheck that took around 15 minutes. Grand Hyatt DFW is located next to the TSA PreCheck, which is convenient if you are only traveling with carry-on luggage.

Conclusion

Grand Hyatt DFW excels in customer service and Globalist recognition along with excellent dining. I can’t think of a better airport terminal hotel to stay at DFW and it is not congested compared to Orlando Hyatt Regency.
