I booked a few hotels on the Venture X travel portal today for my upcoming trip to Bariloche (review). I also checked for the rental car prices for my 1-week car rental from the Bariloche (BRC) airport and compared with other auto rental websites (e.g., Kayak). The Avis, Budget and National rental car quotes were ridiculously high and I decided it was not worth taking screenshots.

I love using Kayak for car rentals (review) since it compares prices between several budget car companies (e.g., Discover cars).
Hertz Amex Platinum discounted price
Hertz prices for Amex Platinum holders came surprisingly close to Kayak prices (see image below). I have had good luck with getting nice upgrades with my Gold Plus Rewards President’s Circle (review) and I decided to book directly from Hertz for this trip.
Conclusion
I have never rented a car using the Venture X travel portal since the prices are not competitive for the places I tend to visit (e.g., Norway). The 10X points earnings sound lucrative, but I recommend comparing all car rental platforms before making a final decision.
