Award Booking Hyatt Regency Casablanca
We used 9K Hyatt points per night to book 4-nights at the hotel, which is a good value considering the cash prices (see images below).

Globalist Recognition
I received a nice Globalist welcome email from the Reservation Manager, a few days before my arrival at the hotel. I replied with my arrival time and requested for a possible suite upgrade for my 4-night stay since we were celebrating my wife’s birthday.
CMN Airport to Hyatt Regency Casablanca
We arrived at around 10.30pm at the Casablanca airport after a delayed Royal Air Maroc flight departure from Nice. We had arranged for a Welcome Pickups airport ride (40 Euros) to the hotel since I did not want to bargain with the airport cab drivers and wanted safety due to our late arrival. Our driver was waiting for us and it was a quick 30 minute ride to the hotel.
Hyatt Regency Casablanca Check-in & Lobby

Check-in was very quick and they informed us that our room was upgraded to an Executive Suite. Globalists typically get a Junior Suite upgrade and we were delighted to enjoy this extra upgrade for the duration of our stay.
The front desk agent quickly explained all the amenities and gave us the option to use either the Club Lounge or the main restaurant for daily breakfast.
We took the elevators to the 7th floor and the hallway had a musky odor (cigarette smoke mixed in Middle Eastern Fragrances). I figured out in the morning that smoking is permitted at this hotel in several areas (see below).
Executive Suite
The Executive Suite is perfectly sized (74 square meters) with a spare toilet room at the entrance, dining area, living room, bedroom, closet space and bathroom (see images below). There was a welcome letter with some snacks at the counter.

A/C malfunction in the suite
We noticed that the air conditioner was not working properly despite leaving the thermostat at the lowest setting. We called maintenance and the issue was quickly rectified.
Standout features of the suite
- Beautiful wooden furnishings.
- Large sofa and easy chair
- Two large TV sets
- Plenty of bottled water
- Several cleverly designed corner table tops to place luggage
Features that are missing or recommended
- Electrical outlet in the bathroom to charge devices
- More hangers for the clothes (they provided only 3 hangers or they were stolen)
- Proper air conditioning maintenance.
Wi-Fi Speed
Wi-Fi speeds were fantastic at this hotel (see image below), putting the Hyatt Regency Nice to shame (review).

Customer Service
Overall, every single person we encountered in the hotel was very helpful and quickly addressed all our needs with a smile despite the language barrier. Room service and food delivery service were excellent and very fast.
Regency Club
Regency Club is located on the 8th floor and serves breakfast between 8.30 and 10.30am along with evening cocktails/snacks between 5 and 7pm. We visited the club a few times in a day just to grab some soft and hot drinks. The club allows us to order eggs made in any style, but they are delivered from the main restaurant from the ground level. We chose to g down there instead to eat hot eggs from the omelet station.

Bar & the main breakfast area
As mentioned earlier, we went daily to the main breakfast area on the ground floor to enjoy the buffet and the omelet station. The bar area has a beautiful set up with authentic Moroccan wood furnishings (see images below). However, unless you are a smoker, it is hard to sit and enjoy a drink or a snack outside the breakfast times since we found people smoking there during all times of the day. The guest bathrooms on the main floor are not maintained well to the caliber of a 5-star hotel.

Fitness Center & Swimming Pool
The Fitness center, massage area and swimming pool are located on the ground floor and it takes a while to get there from the main elevators, since you have to pass the main seating/dining area and a few conference rooms.
Fitness Center
There is a separate Fitness Center elevator which takes you to level 2 and you walk across a narrow path to find the gym and wellness area (see images below).

Fitness center is a large square room with good Technogym equipment in it, but the doors were open and the air conditioner was turned off. There was a strong smell of body odor and I did not feel like working out.
Swimming Pool
The outdoor pool is surrounded by lounge chairs with umbrellas and supposed to be heated (It felt cold, when I dipped my hand in the water).

Smoking in the lobby & in the rooms
It is strange to see that smoking is allowed in the lobby and there are smoking rooms available (normal in Morocco). We have seen several people smoking there, which gets into the hotel ventilation system and gives a foul odor in the corridors and other nonsmoking rooms.
Biggest issues with Hyatt Regency Casablanca preventing it to be a true 5-star hotel
- Smoking in several areas of the hotel.
- Poor air conditioning in public areas.
- Poorly maintained bathrooms in public areas.
- Body odor in the fitness center.
Conclusion
Hyatt Regency Casablanca is still one of the best hotels to stay and explore the city. They have excellent customer service and Globalist recognition. I only wish that they would make the hotel cigarette smoke free, which made our stay less pleasant.
