Hyatt Regency is downtown Chicago’s largest hotel located on the river with more than 2,000 guest rooms and suites. Hyatt Regency Chicago is located near many of the city’s must-visit attractions like Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Chicago Riverwalk, the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan.

Hyatt Regency Chicago Lobby & Check-in
This is the biggest Hyatt hotel I have ever seen (from outside and inside) with two large towers connected by a sky-walk and grand entrance hallway with two escalators and a staircase.
Check-in counter was on the second floor and we were hoping not to get any push back for the Globalist Early Check-in at 8am. The agent recognized my Globalist status and offered us a King Lake View room that was available for immediate check-in.
King Lake View room
King Lake View room feels like a suite with a separate living room and a king bedroom with lots of space. There are two large TVs, one in each room along with an open closet with hangers in the bedroom. The king mattress is very comfortable with good, supportive pillows. Bathroom has two sinks and a perfectly positioned magnifying mirror. The water pressure in the shower is low and it has no rainfall shower head. Toilet space is a bit tight but it was made by TOTO. There is a towel rack above the toilet that holds 3 towels (see images below).
WiFi Speed
The one negative about the Hyatt Regency Chicago is its lackluster WiFi speeds, which is a shame to see in this modern age.

The Market offers fresh Starbucks coffee along with a selection of gourmet sandwiches, fresh fruit, smoothies and pastries.
Breakfast at American Craft Kitchen & Bar
You order everything from a menu at the American Craft Kitchen & Bar and they serve big portions. We enjoyed our free Globalist breakfast there everyday and ordered fried eggs and pork sausage patties which were delicious.
Giordano’s Deep Dish Pizza
Hyatt Regency Chicago is within a short walking distance to Giordano’s Authentic Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, boasting over 20k 4.5 star reviews on Google.
Hyatt Regency Chicago Club Lounge
The Club Lounge is located on the 35th floor (open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and contains a variety of seating options with nice downtown views from the windows. The Club Lounge DOES NOT serve breakfast to Globalists (which is a good thing) and it has a fully stocked refrigerator with plenty of snacks and fruits that are replenished throughout the day. There is a cappuccino machine along with hot water and tea sections. In the evenings, the Club Lounge also serves light appetizers like salad, soup, roasted vegetables, hummus and crackers along with chicken tenders.
Fitness Center
The fitness center is very spacious with new Life Fitness equipment along with a small refrigerator with cold towels and water. We were impressed to see many elliptical & treadmill machines. There is no swimming pool, sauna or hot tub at this hotel.
Conclusion
Hyatt Regency Chicago is one of the most spacious hotels I have ever visited inside a major metropolitan city. It has more majestic city and canal views compared to Park Hyatt Chicago and I am planning to stay here for all my future Chicago visits.
