Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island has 343 rooms and suites that offer breathtaking ocean views from open-air balconies. We used Chase/Hyatt points to book a 5-night stay here and applied one of our suite upgrade certificates to secure a Regency Suite.
Hyatt Regency Distance from Okinawa airport
Despite being only a 30 mile distance, it takes around 60 minutes to reach the hotel from the Okinawa airport and costs around 80-90 USD for the taxi.
Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Check-in
We arrived at the hotel around 9.30pm and the hotel reception took our passports and completed the check-in within a few minutes. There was no recognition of our Hyatt Globalist status or any further upgrade offered beyond our Regency suite.
Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Regency Suite
We were impressed by the unique lighting on the 5th floor walkway to the suite. The Regency suite is superbly designed with ample space assigned to the dining area, living room, closet room and the bedroom.
The overall wooden architecture is very unique and the suite has two sets of sliding glass doors (from living room and bedroom) that open to a large patio enclosure. There is an amazing uninterrupted ocean view from the deck with the soothing sound of waves (see images below).
There are two toilets in the suite and both have bidets with heated seats and other advanced features (see images below).
There are two sinks and a powerful rainfall shower with a bathtub. The separate closet space is well designed with several hangers and bathrobes and slippers.
Regency Club Lounge | Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island
Regency Club is located on the 3rd floor and is available for guests staying in Suites and Rooms with Club Access, as well as World of Hyatt Globalists. The Regency Club offers the following:
Breakfast: 7am–10am
Teatime: 10am–5pm and 7pm–8pm
Cocktail Time: 5pm–7pm
Breakfast at the Regency Club was excellent, with an omelette station and plenty of fresh fruit and cereals.
Regency Club was surprisingly packed during cocktail hour and there were plenty of snacks and chicken dishes in small portions that can serve as a light dinner.
Restaurant Serale
Serale (an Italian word for sunset) restaurant has an open kitchen with an outdoor terrace and offers all-day dining. We tried several dishes here including Margarita pizza, clubhouse sandwich and grilled salmon.
Conclusion
Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island in Okinawa reminded me of Hawaii, but at much cheaper prices. I was very happy to kick off my two week Japan trip starting from Okinawa and the beautiful Regency Suite made us forget about the 3 hour flight and an hour of driving from the airport.
