It is common knowledge that Hyatt points can be transferred to any other Hyatt member with a single restriction that members may only transfer or receive points once every 30 days. My wife recently signed up for a business Hyatt credit card and earned bonus points, which I wanted to transfer to my account for an award redemption.
Procedure to request Hyatt points transfer
You must complete the Hyatt point-combining-request form on a dedicated webpage (link) to formally place the request (see image below).
After completing the membership details, I printed out the form to formally place two signatures; I then scanned the signed document and emailed it to combinepoints@hyatt.com.
How long does the transfer process take?
I emailed the request on a Sunday afternoon and was expecting the process to take a few weekdays. To my surprise, I received the Hyatt point transfer confirmation email within an hour after the request (see image below).
My Hyatt points balance has been updated accordingly (see image below).
Conclusion
Hyatt points can be transferred to any other Hyatt member (not just family members) for the purpose of award redemption without any expiration period attached (e.g., Citi TY points expire in 90 days after inter-member transfer).
