I recently bought a Samsonite Proxis Carry-On for my wife and it only weighs 4.6 lbs despite the overall dimensions of 22 in. x 14 in. x 9 in (link). My wife requested an expandable carry-on to fit some of the stuff she tends to buy during overseas trips (review).

I like the double-pull handle which makes it easy to slide the backpack on quicker compared to the single handle version listed below.
Cosmolite 3.0 Carry-On Spinner (link)
It’s the lightest carry-on I have ever owned (3.7 lbs), but I hate the single pull-handle which makes it impossible to slide the backpack.
Conclusion
Samsonite Proxis is made with a Roxkin outer shell and is supposed to be very sturdy, but time will tell if it is durable. My wife is able to pack everything she needs for a 2-3 week trip in this carry-on and she loves the way it glides over any surface. I encourage readers to buy it when it is on sale and no one should be disappointed.
