Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas is a category 6 Hyatt property located within walking distance from a luxury shopping area.

Award booking Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas

I used Chase/Hyatt points to book a 4-night stay at the Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas (see image below).

Ride from Istanbul Airport to Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas

I have made use of the Citi Strata Elite Blacklane $100 semi-annual credit for the car ride from IST airport.

The total for the Blacklane booking was 125 Euros (see the image above), but we got a brand new Mercedes EQS 450 4Matic EV. The Chauffeur messaged me promptly when we landed and was waiting for us with a name sign at the arrivals area. After a short walk to the car, there were water bottles in the back seat and the ride was amazing.

Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas Lobby & Check-in

Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas is located on a busy one-way street with just enough space for a taxi to pull-in. Once you enter the premises, the lobby is beautiful with a few seating sections and you will pass the Kalimera Greek Restaurant before reaching the check-in desk. The front-desk agent welcomed us, immediately recognized our Globalist status and informed us about the upgrade to the Park Spa Suite.

Park Spa Suite

This 60- to 66-square-meter spa room features a king bed, a minibar, a Türkiye’s Hammam, a steam room, a deep soaking tub, and a Dornbracht RainSky shower (see images below).

Steam room can be seen in the left corner with a control pad

Park Spa Suite Overview

  • The suite’s decor and amenities are up to the standards of a Park Hyatt.
  • The default pillows are of the same kind and offer very little support. The hotel offers a wonderful pillow menu from which you can sample before ordering for your suite (see image below).
  • Mattress is semi-firm with a layer of padding.
  • The seating in the suite is comfortable.
  • There are two remote controlled window shades in the suite.
  • The combined shower plus standing steam room was not very welcoming and we just showered there.
  • The room service personnel were very friendly and offered us 4 to 8 water bottles without any questions during our stay.

Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas Breakfast

Breakfast served daily (free for Globalists) at Kalimera Greek Restaurant is perfect with a great combination of fruits, cereals, breads, eggs (any style), desserts (French toast, waffle) and hot drinks. We looked forward to eating there every day between 7-11am and the Greek decor inside the restaurant is very unique (see images below).

Nusr-Et Steakhouse Maçka Palas

We went one night for dinner at the steakhouse, which was overpriced without any memorable dining experience. Grilled chicken, salmon and a side order of broccoli with still water ended up costing us around $94 USD.

Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas Fitness Center

The fitness center at this property is one of the best decorated ones out of all the hotels I have visited in my life. The decorated ceiling is glistening and there is a brand new Techno Gym equipment filled over an L-shaped large area (see images below).

Kapicciiiinoo Coffee shop

This cute coffee shop is accessible through the fitness center with a room key and it has an entrance from the street (see images below).

Nearby Dining

There are several restaurants within walking distance from the hotel that fit all budget needs. Restaurant prices in Istanbul are much higher now compared to our pre-COVID trip here.

We tried a popular Madhu’s Indian restaurant located inside the 5-star Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul. They were charging over $6 USD for each order of Tandoori naan bread, which are typically half the price in the US. The restaurant bill was issued under the name of the hotel (see image below) and I will not get the 4 x MR points for using my Gold card here.

4 tandoori naan – 1160 TRY = $26USD

Conclusion

Park Hyatt Istanbul offers a luxurious stay to explore the city, and it is easy to secure a Park Suite with either a Suite Upgrade Award or at the time of check-in, depending on availability.
