Petra is Jordan’s most-visited tourist attraction and is a famous archaeological site dating to around 300 B.C. Petra is a two-hour drive from Aqaba (AQJ) airport and a three-hour drive from Amman (AMM) airport. Spring and fall are the best times to visit Petra and it is safe to visit this particular tourist attraction despite all the travel warnings and the nearby conflicts.
