After concluding a wonderful 4-night stay at SCHLOSS Roxburghe, we continued our journey from Edinburgh to Tromso with a one night layover in Helsinki. The Hilton Helsinki Airport Hotel is connected to the terminal building via a partly covered walkway. The hotel has an executive lounge, fitness center and EV charging.

I used 40K Hilton points to book the basic “King Guest Room”.
Hilton Helsinki Airport Check in
The front desk agents were very friendly and after recognizing our Hilton Gold status (free from Amex Platinum) they upgraded our room to “King Executive Room Plus”. We were also informed about the free breakfast and the executive lounge access on the 5th floor.
Unique to this airport is that, in addition to the traditional breakfast (served Mon-Sun 06.00-10.00), there is also an early breakfast which is served daily from 03.30-06.00. We used the early breakfast option during our last trip when our international flight was scheduled to leave at 6am.
Hilton Helsinki Airport Lobby
The airport lobby is massive with large halls decorated beautifully with several areas of comfortable seating. Entering this hotel does not feel like a typical airport hotel and it has a very upscale and elegant look.
King Executive Room Plus
The king mattress and the pillows were very comfortable and the room decor was amazing. There is a small closet with slippers and robes along with a small computer desk station. The in-room sauna starts with the King Executive Room Plus and we were fortunate to be upgraded to this room on both times we stayed at this hotel.
Executive Lounge
The executive lounge is located on the 5th floor with easy key card access. We enjoyed hot and cold drinks with some cookies in the evening. This lounge does not serve appetizers like Conrad Bali, but we were surprised to find a lounge for an airport hotel.
Fitness Center
Hilton Helsinki Airport Hotel has a well-equipped fitness center and I was not able to take pictures since there were people using the gym (see stock photos below).
Conclusion
Hilton Helsinki Airport Hotel is a wonderful way to stay for either one night or for multiple nights to explore Helsinki. It is located within a short walking distance (covered walkway) from the airport with easy train access to Helsinki.
