Hotel Loberias del Sur is located in Puerto Chacabuco in the Aysen Region, which is the gateway to explore Cerro Castillo National Park, Marble Caves, San Rafael Glacier and and Queulat National Park (review). The hotel is approximately a two hour drive from Balmaceda Airport (BBA), which has daily nonstop flights from Santiago (SCL) airport (link). They have a sister property called Parador Loberías del Sur Puerto Bertrand, which is located near the Patagonia National Park.

Award booking flights to Santiago

Alaska Mileage Plan is the best way to book Latam flights to Chile (see image below). Amex MR points can be transferred to Hawaiian and later merged with Alaska miles as needed.

Flights from Santiago to Balmaceda

I recommend using cash instead of points to book flights from SCL to BBA (link).

Conclusion

Hotel Loberías del Sur is a one-of-a-kind property in the remote Aysen region and fun to stay in for a few days. However, it takes a long time to reach the Marble Caves from this hotel and I recommend planning a separate trip on your own with a rental car from Balmaceda airport (review).
