Since Virgin Atlantic adopted dynamic award pricing, I’ve found several good and bad redemptions (review). I was looking for award flights between Prague (PRG) and Zurich (ZRH) for September 18th 2025 and found the following options on Seats.aero (see image below).
Business Class Award Pricing
I was intrigued by the 8K points per person Virgin Atlantic partner business class booking of KLM flights with a short Amsterdam connection. It is a fantastic deal for this route since the cash price is around $800 per person (see image below).
This deal appears even more lucrative if you utilize the 40% transfer bonus from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. While the business class cabin is nothing special, you do get to escape the long lines with priority boarding.
Virgin Atlantic Website Booking
The final total for two passengers was 16K Virgin points and $122 in taxes (see image below).
Virgin Atlantic booking credit card error
I tried completing the booking on two different browsers with different credit cards, but each time encountered an error message and was unsuccessful.
Virgin Atlantic Smartphone App
I wanted to try my luck on the Virgin App and I was pleasantly surprised after seeing that my credit card payment went through without any issues (see image below).
Conclusion
Virgin Atlantic’s website is riddled with errors when choosing airport codes (review) and completing bookings with credit cards. I recommend using the smartphone app to try and complete your award booking before attempting to call their customer service (with long wait times).
