Twelve Apostles are a must-see collection of limestone rocks off the shore of the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. The Great Ocean Road is one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives and can be planned as a day trip from Melbourne.

Award flights to Australia

I used the ANA mileage club to book roundtrip business class flights from Houston to Sydney. These saver awards are rare to find these days but represent incredible value for ANA points.

Sydney to Melbourne

After spending a few days in Sydney, we took a nonstop flight to Melbourne (MEL) and rented a car to explore the Port Campbell National Park/Great Ocean Road attractions.

It’s easy to book domestic Qantas flights with British Avios (6000/12,500 for economy/business).

Port Campbell National Park Scenic Attractions

If you are doing a day trip from Melbourne, see the recommended attractions to see during the Great Ocean Road drive, which are listed below. I recommend skipping the “Teddy’s Lookout” (which adds another 3 hours to the ride) since it is located out of the way compared to the other listed attractions. We drove to visit the lookout and while it is beautiful, it is right next to a parking lot, and there is not much to do around there.

Summary

Twelve Apostles in Port Campbell National Park is a must-see destination for nature lovers and award booking flights to and within Australia will save a lot of money.
