We took Uber ride to the airport on our way to JFK and my wife realized that she left the reading glasses in the back seat. I was looking for my options in the Uber App and found a neat Find Lost Item section which helped us to quickly call the driver and he graciously turned around and returned the item.
How to find the Uber “Find lost item” feature?
You can find the driver information even after you have completed the ride (rating & tipping completed). You have to navigate to “activity” in the bottom of the Uber App and look in the “Past Trips” section. Once you click on the past trips, you will see the following steps which are self-explanatory (see images).
Conclusion
My 3-week trip to Spain and Argentina would not have been much fun if the Uber driver has not returned my wife’s reading glasses. I have no idea how to get prescription glasses while traveling overseas and I am glad Uber has clear instructions in the App about finding lost items.
