Capital One Venture X (personal & business) are the most exciting travel credit cards that have been introduced in the last few years. After waiting for several years, I was finally able to get both of them (LINK )(LINK). While they both have identical annual fees, there are some important differences that are summarized in the table below.

I encourage readers to try and get both Venture X cards since they pay themselves off with easy to use $300 annual credits and 10K miles bonus.

I was able to add several authorized users to the Venture X Business card (without the fear of adding to the 5/24 compared to the personal Venture X card). It also became my default card for overseas shopping due to the 2 x points earned and having no foreign transaction fees.

In my experience, Capital One Travel Portal flight prices are the same or better than Google flights. If their hotel collection ever matches Booking.com, I will always be using it to earn 10X points. For now, I see that Booking.com offers a lot more hotels with great reviews especially for remote scenic destinations.

I will continue to use Chase Sapphire Preferred for travel protection since it offers more coverage (20K vs 2K for Capital One) and has no country exclusions for auto rental CDW (https://awardcracker.com/premium-credit-card-travel-benefits-comparison/).

Venture X points post crazy fast after purchases

I recently used my business Venture to make a large purchase and the points are posted the next day soon after I made the payment (see the images below).

Venture X referral bonus posts fast too

Whenever my friends and family members use my referral code, I am astonished to see how fast Capital One posts the points. For example, I referred two friends on February 8th and they both got approved. I logged into my Capital One account today (Feb 9th) and the points are already posted.

Summary

Capital One Venture X is slowly taking away certain originally introduced benefits (e.g., airport dining access for the personal Venture X and Hertz President’s Circle). Venture X cards are still extremely valuable and I am happy to see the fast posting times for both earnings and referral bonuses.
